The Terra Summer program ends daily at 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the two weeks of a session. Parents/guardians are responsible for the care and safety of their children when the program is not in session.
However, two Terra Summer chaperones are available during the evening hours (from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday in order for you to attend adult-only dinners at Spineto or for you to participate in activities with other Terra parents. The idea is to make your stay more enjoyable and to facilitate the bonding between the youth during free time.
The chaperones are not allowed to take the children off the Spineto property under any circumstance, and they must be shared by Terra parents at the Terra houses. So, for example, while Terra parents enjoy a wine tasting dinner at the abbey, Terra students might share dinner at one of the houses in the company of the chaperones. Or, for example, if the parents at one house decide to have a local chef cook for them, a chaperone would be available to lend a hand with supervision.
If you need any additional child-care services, they can be arranged with notice and at an extra cost to you. However, remember, you are responsible for your child outside of Terra hours.
Thank you.
